WHO AM I?
Born and raised in Haiti, I am a licensed Medical Doctor and Book Designer. Unforeseen, yet fateful circumstances, led me into the publishing industry through book design, a craft I cultivated out of passion and a deep respect for the reading experience.
As a reader myself, I design books for readers.
Books have saved me more than once, and I have always cherished reading in any form, anywhere. Even books with torn or missing covers never discouraged me; what mattered were the pages that allowed me to lose myself completely.
As a book interior designer, I strive to create that same immersive, uninterrupted flow of text for every reader.
Growing up as an introvert, I was always too scared to go to libraries, so when it became too difficult for me to acquire physical books, I became naturally drawn to ebooks because of their immediate availability and accessibility. However, I remember experiencing the frustration of poorly formatted EPUBs, where sections were difficult to identify and navigation was unclear. When properly styled, ebooks can have clear hierarchy, visual appeal, and optimal readability without being bland.
As an EPUB developer, I go beyond simple conversions, dissecting and refining the code to ensure the reader gets the best possible experience.
